Making loud knocking noise after changing timing belt S70

I replaced timing belt for my S70 and when I started it I could knocking noise all over the head. I hope valves are not bent. Car started fine, no shaking or missing.
Thanks

Did you recheck your work? What year car? The 1999 and on have variable valve timing. Did you try turning the engine crank 780 degrees before starting and the marks all still line up?

The car is 98 S70 T5. I can't find the mark for crank pulley. I can see the mark for crank pulley to line up (on cover) but can't find the mark for crank pulley. Is it behind serpentine pulley on crank toothed pulley? How does it look like? I could get intake and exhaust line up good, I think it is crank pulley. What do you mean by 780 degrees? Isn't it 720? What if I remove #1 spark plug and turn the crank pulley till piston reaches top? How can I tell if it compression or exhause stroke, by rotor position?
      Thanks

Finding the little cut out in the valley of the crankshaft gear is difficult, you need a really good shop light.
Yes, the rotor will point to #1 when it is ready to fire and just before TDC.

All 5 spark plugs should have been removed for this proceedure, allowing free rotation when manually turning over the engine at least 2 times to go past all of the firing order. 720 degrees plus.

Thanks Klaus. I found the marks on crank pulley, 2 little notches on each tooth. I put the valley between 2 notches aligned to the mark on cover. Car starts up fine. Thanks again.
