CD changer gives a EEEE code.... 850 1996

The car is a 1996 850 Sedan, the radio is the factory SC-811(?) Premium Sound System with the trunk mounted 6 disc CD changer.

Recently the CD changer will only play about one song (roughly 3-4 minutes time)and then abruptly stop with the radio displaying an "EEEE" code. If memory serves, the radio can be turned off and turned back on which clears the EEEE code and then the CD can be played again with the same results. The CD's in the magazine had been operating fine in this unit and all were clean and new. I have never cleaned the CD Changer because I am not sure how to do this for a 6 disc magazine fed changer type CD player. I am hoping that this changer is just "dirty".

1) How do I clean this 6 disc magazine fed changer?

2) Has anyone run into this problem before and how was it fixed?

3) If the CD Changer is dead what aftermarket model will bolt right in, mate up to the factory wiring harness, and operate through the factory radio properly?

Thank You,

Mark

Unfortunately the volvospeed.com help info is not applicable to any of my posted questions. That page merely resets a radio error code, the EEEE code on my radio can be cleared by turning the radio off and back on which is much easier than reseting that theft-lock code.

See my original post as to the problems I am having with the trunk mounted factory CD Changer. I have a CD Changer problem, not a radio problem.

    Thanks
