"Gear selector reduced function" warning S80 01

Please advise about this error which showed up on our 2001 S-80 with 5,000 miles on it. It is "gear selctor reduced function".

We cannot notice any problem with driving the car. Thanks!!

    Your dealer should order/replace your gear selector module, the plastic top part of the shifter with the gear letters like D, R, N, D. I've seen a few of those so far, not a serious problem.
