LR door no longer opens 850

How does someone open a door that has lost all lock and latch function?

I'm presuming the linkage is disturbed.

Is there a method to removing the door panel in the closed position? The dreaded Haynes manual doesn't mention much about removing the rear door panels.

Side question: Is this common in the 850?

There is no "easy" way to unlock your door or remove the inside panel. A couple of Torx screws hold the center of the panel, and plastic tabs hold the outside edge. The panel comes off by lifting up, then out.

While a number of things could be wrong, the culprit might just be the kiddie lock switch got pushed. Check the RR door for location, and see if you cannot push/pull the lock for the LR door.
