You just created yourself a heap of trouble. The sprockets have elongated holes so that the timing can be changed to match certain environmental driving conditions. With out scribing or spray painting the original bolt positions you will not get the proper timing. The cams must not move while you are replacing the bushings.

Try to visually inspect the sprockets for the original bolt locations. If not, you will have to take off the valve cover, it is glued on, and fashion a locking tool to the rear of the cams and reposition the sprockets.

heh ok but how do you aline the cam sprockets with camshafts. i made the tool to lock the cams.do you aline the marks on the cam sprockets to the timing marks on the plastic cover, or they point straight up at 12 o clock.

The timing marks on the sprockets point to the cover timing marks, NOT straight up.

If everything looks good and there is no interference with the valves; check your distributer cap. The Haynes manual is incorrect, the position of #3 plug wire is at the top or 12:00 o'clock.
