torque specs (throttle body + intake hardware) 850

hello,

i am looking for the following torque specs for a 93 850 nonturbo. they don't seem to be in haynes and i have not found them on the net. would appreciate any help.

* throttle body bolts
* oil dip stick bracket to intake manifold
* intake mounting bracket: 1) bracket to intake manifold, 2) bracket to engine

many thanks,
tim
:-)

Those specs are not in the manual because they just need to be tight, snug. 15lbs would be a good number. Besides, you cannot get a torque wrench on the support brackets anyway :)

the manifold bolts i don't really mind not having specs for. are you suggesting 15 ftlbs for the tb bolts too? they are a mystery to me. i rang up 3 dealers yesterday and got 3 different numbers (15, 20, 25). the only reason i am worried about the tb bolts is because of the gasket - too loose and it leaks air, too tight strips the threads. (one of the reasons i removed the tb is because i am chasing a rough idle.) the torque seems to be undocumented. i am a not an expert at this stuff so i don't have a feel for 'tight enough'. this lack of info is totally baffling to me.

can anyone put me out of my misery?

The TB gasket is very thin, negating a need for precise torque. Nice and snug is all it takes. I just tightened mine evenly all around, just like spark plugs.

just to follow up, i think i found something i can use. i couldn't find any info regarding tb bolt torque in either my haynes 850 or chilton 240 books, but last night i did find specs in my haynes 240 book. they suggest 14 - 19 ftlbs. that fits with klaus' suggestion of 15 ftlbs. i think i will run with that. :-)
