waterpump gasket 850

This is timing belt weekend! I'm replacing the waterpump as well. My question is, do I need to use some kind of gasket sealer on the gasket? If so, what do you recommend?

Last weekend I repaired the spot welds on the pillar so my drivers door doesn't clunk clunk...I used the bolt method that someone here recommended. I couldn't get my fat Swedish fingers in the access hole good enough to reach, so my modified version was sheet metal screws with loctite, a lock and flat washer - works awesome, and I had everything so it really didn't cost me anything except my time. If this repair fail I will post!

Thanks for everything!

Sealer not required.

Let us know when the door hinge fails again :)

The sealer is not required but I put a very thin film of RTV on mine when I replace them just to hold the gasket in place . As you will see there is a considerable amount of manipulating around other things to get the water pump in place due to the confined space and it is very easy to knock the gasket off of the locater pegs.
