850 AC problem 850

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how to maybe fix this problem. I have a 95 850 turbo which was leaking a little 134a (would last about a week) I added a couple cans of AC stop leak, to find out that it was just the schrader valve. Now that I replaced that, the system seems clogged. Line going into evap will get cold, but not blow any cold air, plus, the line coming out of the evap is totally warm. Seems like the evap may be clogged. Any idea would be appreciated.
Also, when the compressor cycles, it will click on for a second, then off for about a min. When low pressure valve is bridged, the line going to the evap will ice up almost immediately, but still will not blow cold.

    Follow up.

    Problem solved. Bought all new o-rings, ac oriface tube, accumulator.

    Removed all the lines and flushed with off the counter ac flush. Works better than it ever did with no leaks. Saved the evap.

      Good news! I love it when I am wrong, I learn a lot that way!!!

      Perhaps the stop leak fixed the leak in the evap? The accumulator was probably full of junk by now, causing the low pressure.

    What kind of "stop leak" did you use? If it was just a 12-14oz can with a little stop leak in it, that will not present a problem.

    If you used a 3oz can of stop leak, times two, and did not follow it up with a can of r134a, that will mess up the schrader valve. Any outside air in your system will gum up the internals, fill up the dryer/accumulator, and generally screw up the system.

    Rapid cycling is normally caused by low pressure and low amounts of R134a. In your case, the stop leak might have gummed up the evaporator and now you are out of luck.

    Time to roll the windows down or get the evap system replaced.

      Actually it was the 3 oz can of stop leak, and the can of the 134a with stop leak. Did follow up with a can of 134a. Schrader valve is totally free not stuck. The thing is, the line going into the evap is cold, the line (and the evap itself) are warm to the touch. Something preventing it from circulating.

      Radiator/AC shop said that could remove all the lines and chemically treat and flush the system. All I would need is a new expansion valve and new drier. We'll see if that works.

        Your problem, along with a large evap leak (adding a can once a week) is now a clogged evaporator. Yes, the lines will need to be chemically cleaned, along with the compressor and condenser. The accumulator is toast, but that is a relatively cheap part.

        You need to replace the evaporator. It is toast.
