different jack for xc? V70-XC70 1998

used the jack on my xc for the first time and could just barely squeeze the back tire off of the car w/ the jack fully extended [pretty interesting jack for the brave]...is there a taller jack for the xc's that i don't have? never had this problem on my two previous 850s

The XC has a different jacking point in the rear. Just in front of the tire about 6 inches in from the normal jacking point there is a 4 inch circle. The circle hangs down about 2 inches and will net you another inch in jacking height. This is described in the owners manual.
