Bi-xenon lights just became available on Euro Volvos ALL

This is the first step, I believe, in paving the way for those headlights to come our way.

Just placed two orders for two customers of mine who are moving to Europe for the next 7 years. One bought an S80 2,0T (!) and the other a V70 Direct Injection Diesel. When I received all the literature with the different options available for these two cars, I saw that starting with production week 50, bi-xenon headlights are available (were only available on the S/V40s before). Price: 890 Euros. Same goes for the S60s. Not available on the C70s. They also offered a kit called "conversion kit for bi-xenon headlights" @ 360 Euros. I have to find out what that is and if it can be used for previous models that did not come equipeed with those lights.

Re: Bi-xenon lights just became available on Euro Volvos ALL 99

I'm all for it if it includes new headlight assemblies (upgrading to HID bulbs in the current units is not a good idea).

For now, has anyone ordered the Philips VisionPlus in H7's? Would appreciate some feedback on those experienced with them.

Also, I recently had a recall performed at the dealer and I could swear my headlights aren't as bright as they were. Are the newer long life bulbs they're installing lower output as well?

Mike,

They also increased the resistance of the wiring somehow. That alone will result in diminished output. I think mine are dimmer too, as evidenced in dark nighttime driving.

Yes, yes. Please do find out more information in regards to the "conversion kit". I'm interested in purchasing HIDs right now, but if these fit, I'd definitely go OEM (or as close to it as possible). BTW, mine is a 1998 C70. Thanks. Keep us posted.

Regards,

Mike H.

Yannis, If and when you find out more about the conversion kit, would you be sure to find out if the "kit" is good for other MY’s.....like the MY00 S70..:)

TIA

Maybe I should wait for these. Please keep the board informed.
