    Hi,
have 2x850-94s, 220kkm&300kkm and both have new link arms as the sub frame bushings were worn out. If your link arms have removable ball joints those bushings will not be renewed, only with combined link arm&ball joints the whole set must be renewed.

Most of us that have older 850s complain about the steering getting tight. With the engine off, stand next to the car and watch the front wheel, and lightly turn the steering wheel. There should be very little play.
The steering column can be visually inspected from above by taking out the fresh air tube coming from the radiator to the cleaner. Check the U joints in the column for slack.
