850 starting problem 850 1994

The other day I had to quickly move my 850 wagon in my drive way from one spot to another. I started it up for about 30 seconds to move it, then shut it off. A minute later I did the same thing to move it to another spot in the driveway. As I shut off the engine I could hear the fan/blower that runs at start up was still going. The next morning when I tried to start the engine, it cranked over fine but would not start. THought it might be flooded. Waited a few minutes. Cranked it over 2 or 3 times with same results, stopped before battery was run down. The next day I charged battery and tried again, still won't start.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix, before I have to pay to have it towed to the repair shop.

Thanks.

Most likely lawn mower syndrom. With a fully charged battery, crank the heck out of the starter, 1 - 2 minutes. You will see the oil light eventually turn off followed by sputtering, but keep cranking until the engine finally sputters enough to run on its own. Then let it run for at least 5 minutes to clean off the plugs.

the experts on this topic will surely reply - to my inexperienced ears this sounds like lawnmower syndrome... do a search for that on this board and compare your symptoms.
