I hope all the volvo heads can tell me what I do now. My girlfriend was driving the car home and called me to say that the car was hardly turning at all. It was difficult to steer more than a couple inches left or right. I met up with her and upon opening up the hood, I noticed that the upper threaded tube that carries the power steering fluid between the steering column and the power steering pump was unthreaded and hanging off. I threaded it back in and added some power steering fluid. Now the car turns left and right but there is a loud whine from the pump. Do I need to have the lines bled? Is the pump gone in this situation. I guess she drove a couple miles on it with the line loose.
Please help diagnose.
THanks
