My wipers are not working correctly while in intermitten... They normally just either stop or start working very fast. Is this a wiper motor change? And if so are they a pain to change? Thanks Jim

Older V70s had a simple relay for intermittent setting. Yours could have rain sensing wipers which are computer controled. They should wipe once when you turn them on and then only wipe when wet again.
Check your owner's manual to see which you have.

Thanks Klaus for your reply. They are the rain sensing wiper system. They work good for a few minutes and then go full speed with very light rain. Very annoying system. Jim

Yeah, I hate mine also. The Japanese cars used to have the best intermittant system, turn the stalk to the speed you want.

The speed of the wipers is dependent on the sensor near the top of the windshield. If it remains dirty, it will wipe faster. There are also software upgrades to decrease the 'sensitivity' of the sensor, and the dealer will love($) to do it for you.

Again thanks for the info... I am going to check with my local Volvo dealer for the software updates. Every time I think they might be working OK they will start screwing up again. Like you mention, give me the simpler syetem. Thanks Jim B
