front end noise... but not when turning right V70-XC70 2001

My xc70 makes a noise when you accelerate.. well, its different than a noise.. its like a part isnt right and is straining. It's hard to explain but in any event it has something to do with something in the front end.

Recently (the past month) I had the right front CV joint and drive shaft replaced. And to me it sounds like it is the left side that is making the noise. BUT.. when I take a right turn and accelerate the car is smooth and quiet. People have suggested that because I am taking a right turn the load is on the right side.

What I would love to see is a total exploded view of the front end so I can see what parts are involved.

Any thoughts?

Hmm...when you take a right turn, the car leans to the left. I would almost say it's a CV joint or wheel bearing on that side too where the sound disappears under load.

I'm going to email you the exploded front view of the suspension. This is for a 1st gen 850, but I don't think it's too much different for a 2001.

my thought exactly...

car turns right and leans on the left side. does that mean that the right front wheel is working harder? and you think that logically that wheel or side is the problem side?

Thanks for the exploded view of the front end... when you send it

Ok, the email I tried to send through brickboard just got returned to me. Can you send me your email address and I'll try again?

I'd think the left works harder under a right turn, since more weight of the car is shifted to that wheel. Therefore, when most of the weight is shifted to that side, the sound is disappearing under load to the bearing/CV joint.
