Same procedure as the 850, except that when you get the engine to TDC, rotate the crank an additional 90 degrees and then BACK to TDC. That little extra bit is to take pressire off the variable valve timing cam.

Your Tbelt is due for a change every 105K. All changes require a new manual tensioner, tensioner roller. Water pump is usually good for 200K?

Klaus - thanks. Now I just need to find the detailed procedures how to change the t-belt on the 850 and I'll be rocking! ;-)

No, seriously, I'm looking for the right reference that ideally, provides step-by-step procedures, proper torque data and pics - something in the lines of "Removal & Installation of T-belt for Dummies". I'm willing to pay for the right reference.

My S70 is about to turn 80K, I'm the original owner - the car has low miles because I have other hoopties that take most of the brunt of my driving, but after reading many posts on this subject, I'm concerned about the age of the belt-it will hit ten years by mid 2010. the car has always remained garaged when not in use and most of its 80k miles are highway. I was thinking to take care of the w-pump since others recommend to do at same time. Your thoughts?

      Thanks again,
