Any "fixes' for fuel level sender ?? V70-XC70 1999

My dead gas gauge tells me it's time to locate the fuel level sender.

First of all - how do I get to it? What part of cargo floor is it under?

Second, once I fish it out - is there any possibility of "fixing" it?

Buying a $400 part is out of the question, so a junkyard find is next best option.

This is a real pain on the AWD cars.

Thanks - I searched for XC fuel sending instead of "AWD" - so it didn't come up.

Doesn't look like much fun from your pics and description.

Between this and the leaking evap. it may just be time to treat myself to a newer ride.
