1998 850 T 850

I'm looking at a 1998 850 T. They are asking 3500 OBO. 127K. What items should I pay particular attention to. Thanks in advance.

The tranny fluid and the AC. The 4 speed is still fragile and requires a flush every 50K miles. The AC has a tendancy to have leaking evaporators and replacement is a nightmare - 10 hours of dealer book time + parts.

If it is a T5, it is probably worth the price. If it is a GLT with a lowpressure turbo, start dickering.

Dwight,

Volvo did not make an 850 in '98. The changed over to the s70/v70 nomenclature that year. If someone is advertising it as a '98, then they are wrong.

Ah. I think they're pretty similar.

I'm new to the 850s. I'm adding my grandmother's '96 855 to my two 240s. I wish I could give you further advice!

Jesse
