door locking mechanism squealy sound when unlocking doors S60

recently when I unlock doors I get this loud squealy sound from the rear passenger door/trunk area as if a gear is frozen and or stripped. Even when weather warmed up, the condition continued. Noise occurs when opening only driver door or all doors (with fob)
car is 2001 S60, otherwise running pretty good with 100,000 miles, although there is irritating transmission bump mostly between first and second gears.

Sounds like the trunk lock to me. Try your key in the trunk and lock/unlock the trunk several times to move things around, then use the remote again.

As for the tranny, I suggest a flush. The fluid does not last forever, just the life of the tranny :)
