ABS Module: Alternatives to Vic Rocha?Dealer??

Hi,
Just got an email back from Vic telling me that it`s unlikely that he can repair the ABS on wife`s 03 XC70.
Dealer wants $1500 + labor to replace module. Ouch!!! Can`t really afford it right now.
Love the XC but it`s expensive to repair. After 35 years of driving Volvos I`m beginning to wonder if maybe I can`t afford to be "brand loyal".
Any ideas out there?
Thanks,
Rich

I hope that is 1500 Loonies and not US$. Still, a lot of money for something that shouldn't break.

Check salvage yards, Strandberg Auto in Wis doesn't have any.

If you want a really good AWD, Audi A4 with the 2L turbo is nice. But all Euro cars will have expensive shop costs. And the A4 doesn't come with memory seats or mirrors.

Proud owner of a 220S. If I had more room, I would have more Volvos.
