Hello all. I have a 2000 v70xc and when starting after warm up it will crank and crank with long crank times before starting, but if I shut key off and restart it starts right up. where do I start looking. Was going to go to dealer and get new key untill I found out 50.00 dollars for key, 35.00 for software and 39.50 for programing. I know now why I have stayed with the older Volvo's. I just bought the car with a bad engine and have installed new engine and all the other things the car needed at 117,672 miles. I am getting tired of fixing all the little gremlins. Now the door light won't go off untill I slam the door.

    I don't know about getting a new key, but it COULD be a bad antenna ring in the ignition switch. Cheap, easy fix, and worth a try since you can do it yourself and not have to reprogram anything.

    Mine does that...it's quite annoying isn't it?! I'm too lazy to dig into the door to fix the latch, but there's a write-up on Volvospeed if you choose to fix yours.
