Cold Start P0350,P0351, 1670 Manu. Code?? V70-XC70 2000

Recently did cold start and two tries with no start. Thought maybe the alarm so locked and unlocked and started with check engine. Wondering after scanning codes which coils should I change, 1&2??

Let the engine get nice and warm if you can, erase the codes, and if it is still misfiring, replace that one. Always keep a spare in with the spare tire, and a tool to take off the cover and bolt.

Went a month with no problem then it comes back and now light stays on. Dealer says its immobilizer related but had that fixed last year. They claim car cuts off (what ?)Its a racket over there. If you don't own a Volvo shop yet maybe you should consider it? Thx..

I couldn't afford all of the Volvo software needed to fix these new cars :)

The P1670 Electronic Feedback Signal Not Detected, is strange because it points to the immobilizer. That would be correct diagnosis for a no start condition.

But the P0350 is for the 'coil' and your car doesn't have one, but 5. Can the immobilizer cut power to the coil? Probably. That's the way I would have designed the software.

The P0351 is a problem with #1 coil, most likely, and unrelated to the other 2 codes. Unless the cylinder was 'washed' with gasoline and the compression became too low to fire, or the plug is real dirty.

Just because the immobilizer ring was replaced last year does not mean that it can't fail again. It is fairly easy to replace, DIY. Just get a new one and try it out. No company programming is involved.
If your old ring is less than 1 yr old, then Volvo should replace it for free.
