Re: ipd motronic upgrade w/ sport exhaust S70 1998

My dad has a 98 s70 t5, and he had ordered the chip that you are talking about and installed the sports exhaust, all from IPD. They claim to add fifty horsepower, and I'd believe it. The thing hauls!!!! Just those two items turn your car into the ultimate sleeper, supposedly cutting the 0-60 time down to that of a new Porshe Boxter. The only problem is the high amount of wheelspin at low speeds, but for the most part it is a pretty good investment and you won't recognize the car after you have done this. I wasn't aware that you could get the motronic upgrade for anything newer than a 98 though. The installation of the chip is very simple, it takes about 40 seconds to swap out the old chip and put in the new one, and you see an immmediate change. The gas millage appears to have stayed about the same around 22.5, and the car resembles its old self until you put the peddle to the floor, at that point it just takes off. Also I own a 1970 1800e and order a majority of my parts from IPD, they are a great company, be sure to order their catalogue at the least. Hope I could help.
