Went to start my car this am and when I put the key in the ignition it spun around before it caught to start the car....Any ideas as to what this is and will this eventually break not allowing me to turn the ignition just keep spinning?? Thanks in advance to everyone for the answer :)

    The lock cylinder part of your ignition switch is failing. Soon it will break altogether and you won't be able to start it.

      Is this expensive to fix at the volovo repair shop?

        Yes. Anything on a Volvo is expensive =).

        Figure about $180 since they mark everything up (about $130 if you order it directly) for the key-coded lock cylinder (which they will have to order). Then about 1.5-2 hrs of labor or so.
