Dist, Rotor, and Wire replacement 850 1995

Good morning,

I have a 95 850 Turbo that has 250,000 miles. I have not changed the wires, dist cap, or rotor in about 8 years. The car runs fine, I have changed the plugs. What symptoms are associated with deterioration on the items above?

Sandro

The plug wires last a very long time. They also have a date of manufacture printed on them. The wires on my 98 V70 were replaced at 140K.

Caps and rotors? While there is no required time/mileage to replace them, they do wear. When I replaced the cap/rotor on my 98 at 140K, it looked like someone chewed on the end of the rotor. I would change the cap/rotor every other spark plug change - I guess that would be around 90K miles or slightly less.

Hi,
changed original worn rotor and distr cup for better reliability without symptoms last year as pretty cheap parts. still running original wires as no symptoms of poor start or idle run even when wet weather.
