Timing Belt Change Recommendations V70-XC70 2003

I'm approaching 90K on my '03 Volvo V70 and wondering about when to do the timing belt. What's the recommendation? And should the water pump, idler, and pulley also be done? Any further advice on repairs would be appreciated. It's a pretty nice car and want to take good care of it. Thanks for the advice.

Timing Belt Change Recommendations V70-XC70 2003

I put a new timing belt on our (Mary's) '04 V70 at about 70,000 miles and replaced the tensioner, rollers, serpentine belt, etc. at the same time.

There were two reasons: 1) the timing belt tensioner roller crapped out on my brother's Audi and it cost him $5000 to repair the damages. Coincidentally, the shop owner was getting a new boat delivered when he went to pick up the car.

2) Manufacturers have to cover emmissions related mainatenence for 100,000 miles. When that law went into effect the replacement interval increased to 105,000. It used to be that they recommended 60,000 to 90,000 miles...

Factory says 105K miles for the belt and tensioner. I would include the roller and S belt. Any spinning item should be checked, of course.

Just as important is to flush the transmission fluid, if it hasn't been done yet.
