Adding additional Low beam lighting. Anybody done this? S70 1998

I know this sounds strange but my low beams are like a candle in comparison to my high beams.

Not only do they seem to be dim, but also have poor coverage. After my previous post I have scheduled an appointment to take the car to a shop to get the head light aiming checked.

In the event they are not able to make a drastic improvement, I'm thinking about adding a couple of driving lights to augment my low beams. I know that they are supposed to be used as high beams only, but Im hoping to be able to aim them that the beams are not too high and not too wide.

Any thoughts or info about how you did that?

My high beams are fine and I have already changed the low beam bulbs for a higher wattage with out much improvement!

Regards

Woody

A cheaper 'fix' is to buy a pair of Ecode lenses. They are easy to replace and after you align them, you will wonder what took you so long. Do not buy the aftermarket headlight modules (plastic junk), just the glass lenses for around $100-150/pair.

I totaly agree with Klaus (as usual). For our S70, I bought a pair of the European glass lenses off eBay for less than $75.00 years ago & they're great! The S70 takes the same H7 bulb for Low or High Beam, so changing the lens is the trick. Also try some good quality, brighter, whiter H7 bulbs for your low beams.
