    S60 seats wiring S60

poking around on the seats some more today... Cant seem to find what one of the wires going to the passenger seat controls is for. It is a orange wire that runs with (what I am assume to be) the Power and ground wires (red and black respectively)

Is the orange wire the source of my problems? What is it supposed to be hooked to?
Cant seem to find any Orange wires on the diagrams that Pixeleater posted. There is an orange wire on the seat diagram for the 850 the Klaus sent. Looks like the orange should be powered too?? I dont want to fry my seat by powering the wrong wire.

Can you guys give me some insight as to what this orange wire does and what it should be hooked to.

    **EDIT**
Decided to ground the orange wire. Nothing.
Then put power to the orange wire. WAH-LAH!! The passenger seat now moves!

Thanks guys for all your help.

Good work!!! Now, go over to the 120 side and nicely write up how you connected the wires to the 122 and if you are going to put the Ebrake lever in the center tunnel.

Who knows, 850 seats are in the pick&pulls around here...

These are from a 2004 s60 (non R). Definitely let us know back in 120–130 how this works out. Take some pictures and detail some of the main wires you end up configuring for this if you would. I may have the diagrams, but maybe you can help us see how they translate irl.

These link to full resolution images that are named accordingly :)

      AWESOME! S60

Awesome. Thank you so much. I'm off work tomorrow so I'll have the chance to poke around on the seats some more. Can't wait to get both working.

    power but not moving? S60

Took a multimeter to the seats and there is 12 volts to the controls and 12volts to the motors when switched. What might be causing my seat to not move??

    passenger seat? S60

What may be causing the passenger side to not work?? I have hooked up the power the same as the drivers seat that does work.

Loose connectors? Is there something that needs to be hooked to the drivers seat?

There is no connection betweem the seats. You got the driver's side working? Great! You could tighten up the Ebrake cable so that it only needs 2 clicks :) or move it to the center console.

The connections are the same for both seats. The forward/reverse up/down motors are gear driven, so they will run if switched. Is your ground proper?

I actually just cut a bracket off and now it fits. Both grounds and power wires are connected together. Used the multimeter to check voltages?? Not sure where my problem is??

I would separately ground the seats. You might be getting feedback from the other.

When this works, please supply a pic for the 122 side of the Brickboard. Along with where you put the additional fuse box. Great project!

The passenger seat is still not working?? Have both seats wired and fused. Drivers seat is working. Even tried unplugging the drivers side and switching plugs. Still nothing?? What am I missing?

Power and ground are hooked up. Seat is getting power.

If the plug is OK, then it has to be in the switch itself. All 4 motors won't die at the same time. Still sounds like a ground problem though.

Looks like things are going to work out. Removed the seat bottoms from the 122 and put them back into place for mock up. Only thing that may come close is the parking break lever. Relocation or handle modification may be in order.

Passenger side should fit without a hitch.

    850 seat wiring diagram S60

I sent you an 850 wiring diagram for a 1995 model. The S60 is different wiring in the car, but the seats might be close. You have a really good task, let us 122 owners know how it works out.

I wonder if the S60 seats would fit in an 850????
