faded trim solutions? 850 1997

After the paint job and the nice weather, I'm ready to get to the bumpers and trim. I was thinking about painting them myself, but found posts about 'Showroom New' grey from IPD. Anyone use this and had good longevity with it? It seems very easy to do. Any other solutions besides 'black again'? Thanks very much.

I used the Showroom New - grey about a year ago and it still looks great. I used a cloth to rub it into the grain and taped everything off. I recommend it!

Wow, a year! I'll take that. I've got the order in to IPD. Thanks for the post.

I've used a product called "Black Chrome" which seems to work well. Although the first application doesn't last long it does improve after the second use.

If you intend to paint or shoe dye, wax the body paint first with paste wax. Then clean off the bumper and trim.

Did you know that a heat gun will turn the bumpers dark gray again? Saw a video of it somewhere...

Thanks!
Yeah, I did see/read that too (& forgot). Sounds hard to do without melting something. I think I'm going to try the dye, there are great pictures out there, of people having done it. It seems to last, but the question is how long?

I've done this procedure with much success! Doing it right the first time is satisfaction!

WOw, that's an awesome post. I wish I had seen it, but didn't find it earlier, thanks. I might still do it someday, because I would prefer very dark gray almost black, but not black. I'll go through with the dye job, because that's easier to do in the city. keeping that site saved. Thanks again.
