death of a great car, need 97 850 wagon 850 97

My parents just lost there 1993 250 limited edition wagon. In 7 years the car needed a new alt. thats it, not one other cent put into the car. It was a beautiful metalic blue with leather int., a real tank. Coming back from from the country, they hit snow and the rear wheel drive (summer tires) finally caught up with them. The car slid of the road and died. Bent beyond repair. Ofcourse my folks and the dog walked away. My mom is real sad, she loved it. To cheer her up I want to find a 97 850 TURBO WAGON. Her Italian blood will really like it. They are in Montreal so it needs to be from canada or northern US.

To all, a great Volvo left this world today.

Re: death of a great car, need 97 850 wagon 850 97

I was shopping for a similar ride to replace my wife's aging 745 and on a lark, I stopped into a Volvo dealership in Brossard, QC while up on business. Noticed a couple of things. Used Volvo prices are much better in QC than in New England. And the dealership had a 94 945 with something like 45,000 miles on it for about 17,000 CAD. It was in mint condition. I'd have bought the car were it not for the fact that it had an engine variation that was never brought into the states and therefore could not be ceritified by Volvo NA with a simple letter.

good luck

claude

Maybe they should look for the 97 AWD turbo wagon for the Montreal area. Sold only in Canada, & apparently much more reliable than the AWD V70s made in 98. It comes with low pressure turbo (which, together with the AWD feature doesn't give it the awesome acceleration of a hpt) & a manual transmission (only). I haven't driven mine thru a winter yet, so I don't know how much I will come to love the AWD, but it was the only standard transmission I could find & I was desparate to unload my 94 850 turbo automatic wagon.
