Secret start up function to get 18lbs of boost?? 850 97

Hi all- today James Rothe on the "AWD section" of this board alludes to "which dashboard switch has a secret start up function to enable 18 lbs of boost on the T5 cars." He posted about "secret codes on the sc-816" then sends you to a web site for specifics. Anyone have any idea what he's talking about or is he the only "genius" who has figured out

something we don't know? IMO, I think he's blowing smoke up the ass!! Later, BD

    Hi Billy,

I am sure James was just joking about the 18lb boost button. Because the factory wastegate in the x70T5 can't even hold boost more than 16psi, so why would Volvo build such a button? So I am sure he is just joking. Otherwise, he must have some good weed. Maybe he meant to say he can get you a dealer that can sell you 18lb weed for a good price:)

The term "Blowing smoke up the ass" speaks well of this person's intellect.

I'm certain BD's line-by-line review of the source code in the MPU of the T5 would have turned up such a switch!

James - keep this info to yourself. Never teach an ape how to use a slingshot.

Are any reports of such a review available online?

Tried the codes for the radio on my crappy stock SC-813 (S40) and they work, so some of it is true.

Everything I say is always true. :)

      Terence: I never inhaled.

      Landin: Thank you!

      Mat: see below.

Billy Dee: if you send me $300 and fill out the lengthy application form, I'll send you instructions that I guarantee to work on one car, somewhere. Also, when you hold a slingshot, hold the handle close to your face, and hold the elastic part away, at arms length....

All: I've updated that web page for the sake of the gorillas of the world. See the bottom of the page. No sense further confusing the confused. Actually, this could be a fun rumor to propagate. We could be chuckling about it for years.

Hey, wait a minute you guys! Nobody's supposed to know about that switch. It gets really messy when folks hit the switch and they don't have a sunroof.
