wind noise from cross bars V70-XC70 2001

i've had my xc for 2 weeks. i'm really enjoying it. the problem is that i have the volvo roof cross bars which seem to cause a lot of wind noise. the only thing that's eliminated it is tilting the sunroof up. this isn't a very practical way to solve the problem and a couple of times i've forgotten to close the roof.

any ideas??

Pat,

why don't you remove the cross-bars? Their function is temporary not permanent. Plus, I am sure they are costing you at least an additional 1 or 2 mpg in lost fuel.

If you do not use them you should remove them. Only the Eurorails have a permanent function in the V70.
