1998 4-Speed Automatic Compatibility ?

Does anyone know if the 4 speed automatic (AW50-42?) from a 1998 C70/S70/V70 be used in 1999+ C70/S70/V70 that came with a 4 speed automatic ? Does anything "special" have to be done or is it not compatible with the ETM cars that still shipped with a 4 speed auto ?

Thank you.
