Half Shaft Drive Axle S70

I need to replace the passenger side half shaft axle on my 1998 S70. The Empi ones are 1/3 the price of the Volvo part. Are they any good?

Some have had tranny leaks with the after market shafts. Others love the price.

From a mechanic in southern california, nothin' beats OEM for fit.

Call Daryl Waltrip Volvo in TN for a price quote.

Thanks for the info. I ordered axles from Raxles after reading good feedback about them. Price for either side is $149 plus shipping. They are rebuilt Volvo axles. They even prepay for UPS shipping the old ones back.

Replace the seals while you are at it. They are cheap and easy to replace.

Good choice. Remember, when you pull the old axle out, a little ATF will dribble out. No big deal. After you stuff the new axle in, wipe the area with a cloth and check it for seepage in a day or two. It should remain clean.

If an axle comes loose, for some strange reason, you will loose all motion. The diff will supply power to the 'non moving side' which is the loose axle. Just give it a good boot to make sure it is in place and off you go.
