Window guide 850 1997

Hi,
I found this thread on the window guide http://www.brickboard.com/AWD/volvo/1406777/850/replacing_window_guide_1996_850.html because showing the guy the old guide and writing it on the paperwork wasn't enough to get it swapped out from the old smashed door to the new junkyard door. The thread says it's easy to do, but I'm curious to know if there's a little more info out there that could help me out. It seems to hook in something at the top and then fasten with one screw (mine has the nut attached) A picture would really do the trick. Thanks very much.

    Window guide 850 1997

I just replaced the guide. I'd avoid a boneyard guide-they're mostly toast.
The new part from Volvo doesn't use a screw and nut.
    They include a pop rivet.

The top just slides up into the door frame and you rivet the bottom.

You probably need (2) new green plastic window bushings that come with
new snap rings. Get em at FCP or Volvo.

The thing that messed me up was I didnt understand that the bushings are
molded to accept the round ball joint on the regulator arm.
You need small channel locks to snap them into the bushings,
    then put the snap clip.

It's another job thats simple after you do it once.

    Good luck, Bill
