swaybar link clicking noise 850 1997

I just replaced my front struts again, and decided to also replace the swaybar link assemblies. With over 180k miles, thought it may be worthwhile. Anyway, once they were replaced the right side began making a clicking noise while driving over small bumps. I checked the torque on the nuts, (37.5 ft/lbs) but the noise persists. Ordered another link assy. and just installed it, the noise is still there. While holding onto the link I can feel the clicking coming from the lower end connected to the swaybar.

Anyone have ideas as to what I should try next?

Is is possible the sway bar holes are worn . Can you shim or bush if worn.
I have had similar problems. i found that the links I bought for a bargain were no bargain. Replaced with originals at almost 5 times the price and the problem is gone.
Good luck let me know .

I pulled both links from the struts, leaving them connected to the sway-bar. The noise now comes from both sides, from the struts themselves. This leaves me to believe that the links are ok at both ends, but something with the struts is making noise.
I did find both 'plus' nuts on top of the struts had come loose, tightened them up and put the locknut and plate back on top. Still makes noise.
