Good Indie Shop In Montana

Hi All,
This may be of interest to Albertan`s who are looking to save some $ & are tired of high prices of P&L at the dealer.
A month ago my wife took her XC70 into the dealer for what seemed to be an upper shock mount issue. It turned out to be the problem but as well, the tech found the car needed front end work: ball joint, control arm bushings & sway bar endlinks. The dealer quote was a little over $3000.
I did a little research & found a shop in Kalispell, MT that specializes in Volvo, BMW & VW. I called them & their quote was $1000 using OEM parts. We drove down last week & had the repairs done; final bill was $1060 plus $70 for a 2 day car rental.
This approach may not be practical for all Albertan Volvo ownwers but it is an option to consider.
This shop(Celtic Motors) is busy, no fancy customer service lounge, etc but we were treated honestly & fairly. Definitely, we will take our Volvo back there in future.
Rich

    Thanks for the positive note.

Did you see my post about a Canadian firm that 'rebuilds' DIM modules? $500. Check www.xemodex.com

      Klaus,
Thanks for the xemodex tip. I just had an email quote on ABS module: $449 CDN which includes shipping. Sure beats $1500 from dealer!!

I think the dealers leave the Kroner price tag on the parts, cut off the K and replace it with a $. Just like the German parts that used to have Mark prices.
