We are a volvo family of 4. 2 240s, 1 760, and 1 850. The 850 is the nicest car we have, but the one I am least competent to repair(not that I am competent period.)

The car was not started for 7 days. The first time it started fine, was moved about 20 yards and shut down again. Yesterday, it was very difficult to start. The starter turned over and the engine slow and haphazardly started. It stalled if you pressed the accelerator at first. It seemed to be low on power but after about 5 miles in ran ok.

Any ideas?

    Sounds like "lawnmower syndrom" which you can find here on a search: loss of compression by that short run when excess gas washes oil off the rings.

      Thanks so much. BB is amazing. LMS seems to be exactly what happened to the car. I hate starting a car just to move it 30 ft and now I have a reason.
