My 850 glt sometimes at start up , there will be just like a hiss sound, or something like that,then try again nnd it will start , starter going out?? , relay ??

A hiss??? Key in position II should let you hear the fuel pump, then in pos III, everything is off except the starter. No relays.

Your ignition switch may need work, try wiggling it a little after start and see if the engine dies momentarily.

also dont know if related but speedometer sometimes after start up it wont work , then after i restart it does work , puzzle!!

That makes it sound more like electrics than mechanical solenoid getting tired. Check the red wires going to the battery for corrosion, clean if needed.

no if I wiggle the key after start up , nothing happens , just once in awhile when I tried to crank it it will make this hiss/slide/hollow sound,and then when I try again it usually starts , but worry it may let me down somewhere, any more ideas? thanks so much for all your help , much appreciated . Love my Volvos!!
