Wiper Fluid S70 98

It's been cold as a witch's teet here in Colorado for the past four days or so. Corresponding with the cold snap, my wiper fluid jets ceased working. This caused great issues as I travelled back from skiing yesterday, and had to pull over to pour wiper fluid on the windshield.

Anyway, to my question, is the wiper fluid system heated in anyway? If so, why did I have this problem? My only answer is that the cheap asses at the local dealership (just bought the car two weeks ago) filled the reservoir with water and it froze.

Oh yeah, the temp shot all the way up to 39F today, and the jets are working like a charm. Thus, this problem does appear to be temperature related.

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Tim

It might simply be that your car has summer fluid in the windshield washer reservoir. I speak from experience. I had summer fluid (more bug-removal capability, no antifreeze) in my reservoir when it turned colder here in Ontario. After two consecutive mornings of frozen jets, I added winter fluid and fixed the problem.

    Tim, Yah man it's cold.

The only heat the wiper fluid gets is indirect from the motor.

Which dealer did you wrong? I'm in search of one that wont.

By the By I replaced the t-valve in the 97 GLT this weekend. Things flowing smoothly.

I bought from Rickenbaugh. They've been alright, but not as customer centered as I would like.

10-4, Rickenbaugh is great for sales, beware of service. I am in the midst of some work gone bad. I'll post when done.

I'm thinking of Sil-Terhar next time for service
