AC Clicking Problem 850

Wife has 93 850, running fine, even the AC works well but if the air re-circulator switch is on outside air there is a constant clicking sound from under the dash. AC works fine, nice and cold. Put the switch on recirculate and clicking stops.

I removed the knee bolster but can't find what is clicking.

Anyone experience this and find a solution?

Thanks,

Tim

    AC Clicking Problem 850

To determine if the switch is bad, with the car off, switch the recirc switch about 10-20 times. It could be a bad contact.

The actual motorized damper is just left of the blower fan, you should see it working when you change the switch setting. The arm of the damper does have a habbit of breaking and does need to be inspected.
