A/C stopped working mechanic can't find a problem S60 2001

I have a non-turbo 2001 s60 with 120K. Recently the A/C has stopped cooling the car down. I brought it to the mechanic and they can't figure out what is wrong with the system. They checked for leaks and codes for all the A/C parts.

Very perplexing....any suggestions would be appreciative.

Mechanics rely on codes too much, there are a lot of things that will not set off a code.

Do you have ECC (figure of person seated) or manual control (just dials)? It does make a difference. Manual has no codes and the ECC codes cannot be read with a generic code reader.

If the AC clutch does not engage when you start the car, the switch on the dash, the AC relay, the pressostat, or the clutch gap could be at fault.

If all of these terms are unfamiliar to you, take your car to an A/C shop for a diagnosis - not an engine mechanic.
