ABS Light 850

Once in a while the shifter doesn't release normally from Park and I need to use the botton. When this is done the ABS light always comes on and stays on until I'm able to again shift out of Park the normal way. Is this a querk of my car or have others seen this also? Or is it suppose to work this way for some strange Volvo reason? Thanks in advance.

The ABS module uses the brake switch behind the pedal, as does the shift release. It might be possible that is your problem.

If the ABS light is on, read the code and see what it says. Once the light goes out, the code will be gone.

Thanks...makes sense to me. I'll check out the switch.

Maybe your ignition switch is wonky. Take a look here:

[Edit} You should pull diagnostic codes for the ABS as well.
