Hard to start??? S70 2000

My S70 SE has 4000 miles and I have noticed (or think I have) that it is sometimes difficult to start. I have to turn the key twice to get the engine to catch. At first I thought that it might be the difference between the car that I traded vs. the S70, but now I am not so sure. Any comments would be appreciated

    Theresa,

I agree with Peter. I have a 2000 S70 SE which has normal aspriation (non turbo), its starts right now! Very quick!

Re: Hard to start??? S70 2000

If this is a turbo charged engine and it occurs at cold start, there may be a software update that will correct the problem. There is a specific vin number range that has problems. I think the problem is restricted to 99 models but not sure. At any rate, your car should start on the first try. Visit your dealer. Try to be as specific as possible with your description of the problem. (how often does it occur, warm or cold engine, etc.)

Re: Hard to start??? S70 1999

Theresa, What I have noticed is that my S-70 is not hard to start, I just had to learn to hold the key in the start position a second longer than I had to on my 740. As soon as I learned the differences in start-up procedure, I have been able to start up on the first try. Hope this helps. MH

That's not normal. Your car is under warranty. Have it looked at.
