Trailer Electrical Wiring not connected V70-XC70

Is it normal for XC70s, with trailer hitchs, to come with the elecrical connector near the spare tire disconnected? This is the 2nd time I have had to chase down wires to find out why my trailer lights would not work. Both times the connector was unplugged.

Check the plug right after you have the car serviced, perhaps the wiring causes problems during service.

I had a '68 VW that I added a tach to, connecting it to the distributor. Whenever I had the car serviced, the tach did not work. Each time I found the wire disconnected - seems that the connection caused the diagnosis computer to show a points resistance fault.

Not normal at all. The connectors should take a little work to unplugg, not just fall apart.
