Memory seats and mirror? V70-XC70 2001

I have a 2001 V70XC with the power seat and mirror option that is suppose to work as well from the key fob remote as it does from the buttons next to the seat. The problem is that the rearview mirror doesn't always go to the correct setting even though the seat does. For example, my wife and I both have different settings. She is number 1 and I am number 2 on the seat buttons. After she drives the car, if I open the door with my remote, the seat moves to my preset position but the side view mirror does not always do the same. It does sometimes but not everytime and even occassionally it will move a little but not completely. Is ther something I should try in setting the remote to my settings before contacting the dealer? What could the problem be since it is intermittent? Tom.

Re: Memory seats and mirror? V70-XC70 2001

The little fooling around I've done seems to indicate that the doors must be locked first(say with Key set #1-wife). Then I come out and unlock the car with Key set #2----the seat and side-view mirrors should adjust to the #2 seat setting that I had it memorize.--Now, if my wife had made a manual adjustment to the side mirror while she last drove the car--chances are it won't appear to move as much(or maybe more),when I come out and un-lock the car.--Maybe that is what is spoofing you.

What is a little frustrating is whoever last drove the car-- parks it in the garage, we don't lock the car in the garage--so the next person to get in the car will have to hit the memory button on the seat--after getting in--which for me is a pain as I am scrunched into the steering wheel by her setting--MAYBE, Volvo engineers will eventually come up with a door handle that instantly recognizes your hand as you open the door and automatically adjusts seat, mirrors, temperature, FM station, etc.
