I have had a T6 for just under 3 months...my first Volvo. Although I have harboured a long interest in Volvos since College days (one of my teachers who taught Aerodynamics, Navigation, and Fortran had one and made some fantastic claims about them!)I had not purchased one...that is until now! I had some concerns about fuel consumption, using premium instead of the regular. Plus the gov'ts fuel consumption guide listed the T6 @ 32 mpg which everyone knows is pure fantasy. Could I hope for 29-30 mpg? Up to the last full tank, I had been averaging slightly better than 35 mpg. I drive the 401, Guelph to Toronto and return...cruising generally 105 kph. Once at cruising speed, I am driving a 2.8 high efficiency engine with two turbos ready to serve my needs. i am waiting patiently for any excuse to drive some real distance...I am certain I will easily get over 1000 km from my 80 litre tank...especially in warmer temperatures.

I had looked at the 2001 V70 because it has headroom compared to the earlier S70 and 850 types with the sunroof. In fact, would have purchased one except I was offered a T6 with a 20-25% discount...3200 km on it.

What a car!!!

Do you use the Gislaved snow tire? The steel rims for the S80 are $600...for $950 Volvo packages rims and rubber! Purchasing the rims and tires separately may get what I'd prefer, but if the Gislaved do a decent job, the saved $$$ could be put to better use.
