S70 Idles as rough as a Mercedes! S70 2000

I have recently noticed a slight vibration at idle in my S70GLTSE (3000 miles on it now). It only occurs when the car is in gear and not moving such as when stopped at a traffic light and immediately disappears when you begin to move. It is similar to a 1995 Mercedes that I rode in recently.

I don't remember this when the car was just out of the showroom. Is this normal? I don't notice this in my '93 240. However, I could be being unreasonably picky. Other than this the car has been flawless.

Thanks,

Ted

That's strange because they typically idle so smoothly that the engine doesn't even slightly shake at idle. My experience with MBs is that they too normally idle smoothly whereas most older Volvo 4 cyls like the 240s idled far more unevenly in comparison (typically have a slight shake at idle).

I FEEL A VIBRATION WHILE IDLEING ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE PEDAL ON MY 1996 850 NON TURBO SEDAN. THE DEALER SAYS THIS IS NORMAL.

Re: S70 Idles as rough as a Mercedes! 400 1991

I experience this same problem with my 460 Injection. If you are in a moving traffic its perfect but as soon as you reach a stop and step on the clutch, the car vibrates visibly and the engine sometimes go off in the process.

      Any help
