SRS indicator V70-XC70 2000

When I start my V70, the SRS light does not extinguish for several minutes. During this delay, all of the cabin electrical items are disabled, including the climate control, seat motors and radio, as well as the windscreen wipers. This delay will vary, but has exceeded 10 minutes on several occasions. Eventually, the SRS light goes out and everything comes on.
I have replaced the ignition switch but it did not fix the problem. Is this a problem in the SRS Controller, one of the air bags? How can I isolate and correct it?
I appreciate any and all suggestions.

If you have access to a code reader, read the codes while the SRS light is on. I would suspect a loose wire or plug that is losing connection when the wires are cold. Probably nothing to do with the SRS, but, so long as the SRS light is on your airbags and seat belt tensioners will not work.

Next time this happens just jiggle the key a little bit. Mine does this sometimes. Except the SRS light doesn't come on. And nothing else works until I turn the key back a bit.

I thought that too. I went ahead and replaced the ignition switch to head it off as I know you can get all kinds of strange electrical issues related to a bad switch. Unfortunately, it did not change the symptom.

I checked my codes again and I am still getting a clear response off of my scanner.
:( It is looking like I will need to take it in to the dealer for this.

Problem solved. I read a post on another volvo forum that was describing symptoms almost identical to mine. Someone replied that he had a similar but opposite problem and found the 105 relay to be the culprit. I swapped the 105 & 106 relays and the original symptoms were gone. The relay #9494424, was not stocked at the local dealer but, was on hand at one of my favorite European parts houses for under $20.
Thank you all for your replies.
