Uneven wear on Rear Tires = bad shock? V70-XC70 99

The inside edge of my rear passenger side Michelin MXM Pilot tire is cupping slightly and I am curious if it is because I have a bad shock.

When I say "cupping," I mean each tread block on the tire edge is wearing unevenly from front to back (is higher on the front than on the back). I ask this because a few thousand miles into owning the car, this shock seemed to be leaking fluid. When I took it to the dealer for service soon after I noticed this I showed it to them. They said it was just an undercoating spray I was seeing (the other shock did not have this fluid on it). Now at 32K miles on the car (not on the tires since I use another set of tires in the winter) the tire is wearing unevenly. I have been rotating the tires and keeping them balanced.

You might want to get an alignment as well 30K plus miles is a lot of miles without an alignment. If you truely have cupping on your tires, the number one cause of cupping is bad shocks.

You may want to check your tire pressure before you look into anything else. If your pressure is too low then the sides of your tires will wear out fast. Just a thought.
